Tips on starting your own pageant

Well, I am not an expert or an attorney, but here is what I recommend:

  1. Pick a name for your pageant but REALLY research it thoroughly! People are very protective of their pageant names and might sue you if you steal their name!

  2. You might consider Copyrighting or Trademarking the name.

  3. Register the name at your Secretary of State by obtaining a DBA (doing Business As which is a Sole Proprietorship) or file a Corporation for more protection.

  4. Next, you will need to come up with your rules, awards/prizes, judges, etc and create flyers and entry forms.

  5. Pick a place to hold the event.

  6. Be sure to advertise in pageant magazines such as Patsy's or Pageantry.

  7. Last, but not least- Advertise with PageantLink, of course!
